Diversity and variety is my biggest drive as a musician, curiosity into unknown styles and new music. Playing from classical repertoire to contemporary jazz en encompassing all styles in between

Music has always been part of my life, already at a early age of 4 I started playing piano under the tutelage of my grandmother. When I was nine years old I switched to cello after attending a performance of Elgar cello concerto and being in awe of the lyrical sound of the cello and the beauty of orchestral playing

Soon after starting to study cello I started playing in youth orchestra’s and eventually joined the Ricciotti Ensemble during my studies, there I got my first experiences playing pop, rock and jazz as a string player

with this experience I  started looking for more opportunity to develop the different styles outside classical music

playing in numerous pop bands and ensembles trough the years and arranging for cello quartet, cello duo and violin cello duo

in present day my main recurring performance activities in orchestral setting are being remplecant within the Metropole Orchestra, remplecant within Kamerata Zuid and member of Unico Ensemble studio session orchestra for numerous artist like Rihanna, David Guetta, Afrojack, Martin Gerrix, David Garrett etc.

The formation of FUTUR, a platform created by me to create a new sound by bringing together (classical) acoustic musicians and electronic music producers. The results of this collaborations were already tested on Dutch music festivals in the summer of 2023, such as Mysteryland. This platform has created FULCRUM a duo of modular synth and cello. BEWATA trio of producer, violin and cello. and ARCANO A string quartet with EDM production

My instrument

I play a cello built by Jaap Bolink in 2001 that he made with much care for his friend and my former teacher Jeroen den Herder who loaned me his cello to me for my studies

this cello had profound impact on my playing and became a inseparable part of me and my music

it became clear also for Jeroen that whatever would happen this instrument should stay with me

thanks to great efforts of Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument  I have been able to buy this beautiful instrument
