music always made part of my life, and at already a very early childhood I had piano education by my grandmother. when i was nine years old my mother brought me to concert of my sisters youth orchestra and they performed the famous elgar cello concerto. it was here that I fell in love with the cello. i started private cello lessons with Allison McRea and continued my studies with Paul Uyterlinde, later with Michel Strauss and now I am studying at the conservatory of Rotterdam with Jeroen den Herder In the years I got more and more interested in world music In 2009 I joined the Riciotti Ensemble and played for years with and had the expiereince of playing in very unuasual places and experiment a lot with stage performing, this also gave a lot of experience with a vast variety of musical styles an inspired me to start arrange music for cello quartet and setting up a tango quintet

My instrument

I play a cello built by Jaap Bolink in 2001 that he made with much care for his friend and my teacher Jeroen den Herder who lended me his cello to me for my studies
this cello had profound impact on my playing and became a inseparable part of me and my music

it became clear also for Jeroen that whatever would happen this instrument should stay with me

thanks to great efforts of Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument and help by my parents I have been able to buy this beautiful instrument
